Mariam Abaza
Intern

Mariam Abaza, a second-year journalism and public policy student at The Ohio State University, is passionate about supporting Palestinians. With a Palestinian father and an Indian mother, she dreams of visiting Palestine. Fluent in Spanish and English and learning Arabic, she dedicates her free time to reading, writing, and social justice work, including diversity reporting and organizing protests.

Yasmeen Hamad
Intern

Yasmeen Hamad is a senior at UT Austin, studying International Relations and Global Studies with a minor in Arabic. Originally from a small Texas city, her roots trace back to Beirut and Tripoli, Lebanon. Passionate about community empowerment through language, she tutors and TAs for university Arabic classes, also mentoring first-year students. These roles have clarified her post-graduation aspirations.

Zayd Patel
Intern

Zayd Patel is a sophomore at Georgia Tech, majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Statistics. His passion lies in coding projects that involve analyzing sports data.  He volunteers with the Houston Food Bank to donate food to those in need. With a keen interest in data-driven solutions, he is committed to using his skills to help people in his community and around the world.

Arif Razack
Intern

Arif Razack is a sophomore at UC Berkeley pursuing a degree in Computer Science. He is very passionate about improving the livelihoods of refugees and displaced people. Born and raised in Amman, Jordan, he is fluent in Arabic. In his free time, he tutors high school students who are struggling in their classes and enjoy working on coding projects, as well as boxing and wrestling.
